Have a console that needs some love but don’t have the tools or time to do it yourself? I offer repair and modification services with a focus on longevity and quality.
Each service includes a ultrasonic cleaning, fresh thermal paste and basic diagnostic (if required).

How to Get Started
- Request a Quote: Use the form below to tell me what you need.
- Review & Approve: I will reply via email to confirm the service, current bench lead times, and total cost.
- Ship Your Console: Once we agree on the service, I will provide the shipping address.
- The Bench: If additional repair is suggested, you’ll be contacted to discuss further action.
- Invoice & Return: Once the work is done, I’ll send a invoice for the service plus return shipping.
Shipping Instructions
⚠️ Packing is Critical: Original Xbox consoles are heavy and the plastic is increasingly brittle.
- Wrap it thick: Use at least 3 inches of bubble wrap on all sides.
- No Loose Items: Do not include power cables or controllers unless specifically requested.
- Double Box: If possible, place your wrapped console in a box, then place that box inside a second larger box with padding.
1. Nature of Vintage Hardware
By sending your console to OGX Store, you acknowledge that the Original Microsoft Xbox is a legacy device (20+ years old). Components such as capacitors, disc drive lasers, and plastic casings are subject to “age-related failure” that can occur at any time. While I take every precaution, OGX Store is not responsible for hardware failures that occur due to the inherent fragility of vintage electronics.
2. Shipping & Risk of Loss
- Inbound: The customer is responsible for safely packing and shipping their console to OGXStore. We highly recommend using adequate padding (3+ inches) and purchasing shipping insurance. OGX Store is not liable for damage or loss occurring during transit to us.
- Outbound: All return shipments will be sent with tracking and basic insurance. If you require “Signature Confirmation” or additional insurance, please specify this during the quote process.
3. Diagnostic & Unrepairable Units
If a console is received and found to be beyond reasonable repair (e.g., terminal motherboard “trace rot” or CPU failure), a $20 Bench Fee plus return shipping will apply to cover the time spent on diagnostics. Alternatively, you may choose to abandon the unit for parts at no cost.
4. Modchips & Software
Installation of a ModXo, OpenXenium, or other BIOS-bypass hardware is intended for legal repair and homebrew development purposes only. OGX Store does not provide, install, or support pirated software or copyrighted game files.
5. Warranty on Workmanship
I stand by my solder joints. I provide a 60-day warranty on the specific labor performed (e.g., if I replaced your RAM and a chip fails, I will fix it). This warranty does not cover unrelated failures, such as a disc drive failing three weeks after a RAM upgrade.
