Yeah, I never imagined being able to power an OG Xbox from a USB cable 20 years ago, but here we are! Sadly, Microsoft could not keep making power supplies for us. I wanted to make sure whatever I came up with had a modular input, and compatible with all console revisions. (Configuration dependent).

And no… the white goop on your existing power supply does not mean you need a new one. It’s supposed to be there!

When you order, you will receive drop in replacement specifically for the configuration you select. 1.0/1.1s will have the 12pin connector, 1.2-1.6 will have the 20pin connector (1.6s will be missing the 3.3v wires). Plus a black, clear, and green rear plug.

I can’t promise that every USB-C adapter is going to work, simply too many out there to test each one. I know ones with PPS (Programmable Power Supply) protocol are likely not to work.
I recommend a laptop style adapter with a single output vs the “Wall Wart” or multi out style if you’re going to order one. Often can find generic ones on Amazon for about $20 when on sale.

USB-C adapter requirement: 90+ watts, 100 watts recommended. Capable of 20 volts.
DIY DC Input: 16 to 20 volts, 100 watts. (5 to 6.25 amps).
